Shop and Save Money With BigCrumbs

I just discovered a new money saving network via cashback for my purchases online. It's called BreadCrumbs. It supposedly offers a better cashback benefit as compared to the other sites which I joined. I was shopping for computer RAM on eBay when I saw this. After browsing through its website, I decided to join. I earned instant cashback to my account as I made a purchase. And I believe I am going to make more purchases on eBay as I am currently starting my shopping spree. For anyone who's interested to save money while doing your holiday shopping, join me at BigCrumbs.

MileSource Closing Down for Good

Milesource is a reward program which I joined in 2004 and left in late 2005. I collected miles from site visits, trivias, referrals and online pruchases to redeem for gift certificates. I successfully redeemed 2 $50 Amazon gift certificates from them while I was a member of Milesource. I left because I think that the mile collection process was rather slow and I had to login everyday to earn my points from the site visits and daily trivias. Now it's closing down for good as per the notification emailed I received. Their announcement can also be found on their homepage. Here's what they wrote:

November 29, 2007:

After many years in business, it is unfortunately time for our company to move on. We will be shutting down MileSource effective December 31, 2007. Members may continue to earn AwardMilesTM on Milesource through December 31, 2007. In addition we are allowing members to redeem their AwardMilesTM until November 30, 2008.

The Milesource User Agreement states that "unredeemed AwardMilesTM will expire on December 31st of the second calendar year following the calendar year such points are earned." Effective December 31, 2007, any AwardMilesTM earned prior to January 1, 2006 will expire and be removed from your account.

We would like to thank you for your involvement with the MileSource program. If you wish to join another rewards site we suggest you visit InboxDollars, which boasts a membership of over 2.5 million members. We hope it will provide you with as much satisfaction and enjoyment as we have over the years.

Sincerely,
The Milesource Team

I thought it's worth a mention since they were really efficient during my redemption process and just to let anyone who is currently a Milesource member know about this. I bet you already did. RIP, Milesource.

Increased Blingo Friends, Alexa Rankings Up and Updated

A big thanks to J.Q. for joining Blingo as my friend. Now she can win a prize whenever I win, and I get to win whenever she wins. To join as my Blingo friend, click on the referral button on my sidebar or simply click on this link.

The Alexa Rankings for this site has just been updated and it is now up to 4,755,065 from the previous 9,479,098. Hopefully this healthy trend would continue and this site can improve and expand. For some tips and suggestions to increase your Alexa rankings, check out the previous post.

Increase Your Website's or Blog's Alexa Rankings

Your Alexa Rankings can be important if you're looking to market your blog for sponsored reviews. Most advertisers wouldn't want to spend their money on sites with low traffic, little readers or exposures and low ranked sites (PageRank and Alexa). Getting your PageRank ready and up may not be possible anymore because recently Google slapped bloggers who do sponsored posts by stripping their PageRank to 0. There are a few simple ways to increase your Alexa rankings. Alexa calculate the rankings by the number of visits from people with the Alexa toolbar installed.

1. So the very first step is to download & install the Alexa toolbar for your internet browser. Then visit your site/blog everyday with the toolbar installed.

2. Install the Alexa traffic badge on your website. You can get the widget/badge here.

3. Use the Alexa redirect URL trick whenever possible. Use http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect? in front of your website's URL. For example, mine would be http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?onlinepaycheck.blogspot.com
